So... if she wins, the medical and judicial system participants should apologize and then she will be voluntarily euthanized, right? Just so everything comes out even. Sheesh!
This kind of ridiculous nonsense should never even make it to Court.

so, i’m just posting this as a warning to lurking jws.
if you’re still on the fence, here is a story.. my grandmother, now in her 80s hasn’t talked to anyone in the family for over 20 years ever since my mother was the last one of her children that left ‘the truth’, she had sent my mother a card to never talk to her again.
so here we are 21 years later, she gets a call out of the blue that she needed help, she hadn’t been able to get into her kitchen.
I'm sorry to hear of your mom's problems. Unfortunately, this is not unusual. Older people with dementia often revert to their older memories and lose many of their recent years. It's sad that the congregation isn't more help, but this too is not unusual. They take, take, and take, but individuals who have faithfully served and contributed for many years are quite often left by the wayside when they fall into hard times and need help themselves.
I hope the Social Services folks do a thorough job of investigating the suspicious transactions. If it turns out the JW in charge of her estate was helping herself to some of the money, please try to get her prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. At the very least, make sure her deeds and the fact that she's a JW gets publicized far and wide. The more dirt thrown on the Borg and J-Dawg's name, the better!
this afternoon just after lunch.
i spotted 2 of the nicer elders in the congregation walking up the drive.
i didn’t answer the door.
Many years ago, when it was clear I was no longer interested in being a JW, a couple of elders called and asked to come over for a shepherding call. I said they were always welcome as long-time friends, but NOT as elders. They were welcome to drop by, but nothing JW-related would be discussed. Crickets...
it's an interesting thought.
if you are an ex jw, presumably dfed, and you see a current jw in good standing engaging in behaviour that would concern their elders, would you pass on that information to interested parties?
do accusations from exes and other outsiders carry any weight?
I'm with Simon on this one. I have no desire to contact anyone in the Borg about anything. I sure ain't gonna spy for them.
However, if I had personal knowledge of JW mooching off welfare or milking a "disability" or the like so they could pioneer or whatever, I'd report them to the government in a heartbeat. The more reproach it brings on J-dawg's name, the better.
To me, that kind of thing is far more egregious than consenting adults indulging in the horizontal tango.
i ran across this episode of jay leno's garage on youtube today.
all i know is it seems very similar to j f rutherford's much-vaunted 16-cylinder cadillac.

There are several threads on here about Rutherford and his Cadillacs. I just searched for "Cadillac" and several came up. Lots of good information.
I hope someone eventually finds records with the Cadillacs' serial numbers, order information, etc. I've been told cars weren't issued VIN numbers until the 50s, but I would think the bodies and engines had serial numbers. Maybe some insider could check the historical files hidden away at Warwick or wherever. I seriously doubt the Borg would have destroyed those records.

I made a public comment about its possible provenance on the video and sent a similar email to the car museum itself. I'll let y'all know if I hear anything back.

Can we please keep this about the car(s) and not about Rutherford? I'm interested to see if it had indeed once belonged to him only from an automotive and historical standpoint. Yes, he had many, many faults, but this post isn't about that.

Thanks, HappyDad! My ignorance is exposed! I thought cars and trucks had had VIN numbers from the very beginning. Did they have any other kind of identifying numbers that could be used to research historical ownership and/or manufacturers' records?

If any of you WT history buffs happen to know the VIN number of Rutherford's Cadillac(s), please share it. I understand he had two. VIN numbers would make it a lot easier to track them down, or at least it would give a researcher a shot at it.

I ran across this episode of Jay Leno's Garage on YouTube today. All I know is it seems very similar to J F Rutherford's much-vaunted 16-cylinder Cadillac. Watch the episode and let us know what you think. Either way, it's a very cool car. I'd love to see it in person one day. Oh well, maybe the next time I'm in California.
